Rouges' Threat

Sparrowstar watched the camp entrance warily. Angelfur had said she scented other cats approaching, but she didn't know them.
Suddenly, a bright ginger tom leaped through the entrance. Sparrowstar hissed loudly to warn the cat. Angelfur growled as the scent came to her. "I know this cat..." Angelfur muttered. "He's a rouge leader, and he uses other cats to disguise his own scent. Disgusting parasite, he takes dead cat bodies and rubs himself against them." Sparrowstar curled her lip in disgust. The rouge chuckled a laugh and sat down.
Angelfur and Sparrowstar stayed alert.
"You don't think I'll hurt you when I'm outnumbered, do you?" he grinned. Angelfur's claws flexed. "What do you want here?" Sparrowstar mumbled. The rouge stood up once again and raised his tail. Another cat, a brown and white one stumbled out from the bushes. "I want my territory free of any other cats except for my own. Either you join us, you leave for good, or you die." Angelfur growled. "Is that a challenge?" she roared. The tom simply smiled. "My name is Sun, doncha forget. I don't follow any rules; I make them. I will kill to get my way, and I have others awaiting to do the same. Once again, either join us, leave, or die. You shall choose by the next moon. Then, I will come with others, ready to do what you have chosen. That is, either welcome you, escort you out, or kill you. That is all. Oh, and until that next moon, Dragonclaw here will stay with you to monitor you and make sure you don't do anything out of my plans. Good bye." Sun left, leaving the other tom, Dragonclaw, with Angelfur and Sparrowstar.
Dragonclaw looked worried and parcially sick. Angelfur stood ready to be attacked if he tried anything, but Sparrowstar sighed and sat down. She carelessly tossed a mouse to the tom, and then slumped off to her den. Angelfur watched in astonishment, then growled gently to the tom. She trotted off towards the Great Oak, where she could observe his every move from a higher point.

  1. Dragonclaw silently and graciously ate the mouse, then curled up in place for a good sleep. Sun had kept him on low food and rest his whole life, and Dragonclaw would never forgive him for keeping his sister hostage. And if this was the only way to keep her safe and from harm, he would do it.

Sparrowstar watched Dragonclaw with suspicion. Why would Sun need someone to watch two cats? If Angelfur and she decided to leave early to protect them from harm's way, why would Sun need to know? Wouldn't he be delighted to know these cats were gone from his sight? Huh...

Angelfur was hostile around the rouge. She had put her rouge ways behind her, and was now sure that she needed to keep others from harming her new life. But was Sun really serious? Would he really need this helpless, weak, cat to watch over them? She snorted and chewed through the rough meat of a toad.
Later, she grabbed a tiny water vole and threw it to the rouge. He caught it in his mouth effortlessly, then nodded thankfully to her.
    Stupid rouge, Angelfur thought.
